Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is low income, and 100% of students qualify for free/reduced-price lunch. My students face a lot of challenges that I can't even imagine. However, that doesn't stop them from wanting to learn.
My kinders come to school every day ready to learn and grow their brains.
For most of them, this is the first school experience, and I am their first teacher. This is a huge responsibility as it sets students up for success for the remainder of their school years. They come in the door every day anxious to learn and full of bright ideas.
My Project
Ron Clark said that "Life is about experiences." I am requesting funding to attend an experience of a lifetime: a unique training at the Ron Clark Academy. During this training, I will observe exceptional teachers who make learning fun, engaging, and and exciting while having incredible results! Teachers learning from other teachers is very powerful, and seeing them in action will help me grow as a teacher in so many ways.
After returning to school, I will know how to infuse more creativity and engagement strategies into my teaching practices.
By incorporating music, art, chants, and unique classroom experiences into my teaching, my students will be more engaged and excited to learn. If they are more engaged and excited, they will learn more; therefore, being more prepared for the rest of their schooling years.
