Our students come to school with a wide variance of knowledge and we try to build on each level of understanding they have. By using a variety of printed resources and digital resources we are able to help students create strong academic foundations around a variety of topics. Teachers pay teachers has created lesson plans, activities, vocabulary cards, realistic photos and materials that help us to bring our units of study to life for our students.
We don't utilize textbooks and the cost of nonfiction books to cover all the concepts we introduce would be thousands and thousands of dollars which isn't in school budgets.
So we supplement by printing photos, stories and word cards to help students engage with learning new content about trees, buildings, insects, pets, families and other topics by finding multicultural, multidimensional resources that they can use at home or at school in small group, while group and independently. Being able to tap into other teachers creative minds and use the age appropriate resources they develop helps give our students a more rounded education.
