Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students of today want to be engaged and enthralled. Technology does this naturally for "digital natives" and schools need to capitalize on this intrinsic motivation and nurture our students to develop into the programmers and engineers of tomorrow.
I strive to design lessons that are enhanced by technology and provide students with the cutting edge of learning and application of knowledge!
I want my students to feel empowered by their technology to craft a better future for themselves and their community. I want them to leverage the technology in their lives to open doors and provide future opportunities and job prospects.
My Project
This project will allow me to add to my knowledge of computer applications and programming by providing me with professional development in computer science training and a stipend to equip my students for the future. I want to be able to bring computer science skills to the classroom through technology enriched lessons and activities. I hope that the training will expose me to fascinating developments in the tech world and allow me to bring that cutting-edge information to my students.
I want my students to be technology pioneers and producers!
By attending this training, I hope to gain knowledge and skills that will enhance my instruction and "upgrade" student outcomes in all content areas through technology integrated learning opportunities. We will hopefully design our own applications and programs, especially those that are instructive in nature while also being fun and engaging for young people to use. This project will hopefully launch students' imaginations and aspirations toward the career fields associated with IT. Thanks for coordinating, CSTA!
