Teacher, Can I Print?

My students need HP ink cartridges for the printers in our classroom.

Due to the fact that schools are faced with tremendous budgets cuts for this school year and the upcoming school year, teachers are forced to spend more money out of their own pocket to make sure their students get everything they need to be prepared for the future. We have limited supplies of everything on campus and are asked to recycle and reuse as much as possible.

I teach in a 4th and 5th grade split class full of students who are like sponges ready to absorb everything I give them. Because I have a split class, my students spend a good amount of time doing independent study with teacher support. Therefore a lot of my students find themselves going to books and computers for group projects and information that they need in order to do research.

I currently have 3 working computers in my classroom and one donated printer which was given by a student's father. The donation was truly appreciated but the only problem is that it needs some ink. Every time a child is working on the printer and asks me, "Teacher, can I print this?" I have to respond with "Sorry sweetheart, we don't have ink". This causes so many problems because a lot of my students don't have a printer or computer at home, therefore they cannot print anything they need from their research papers. Not being able to print puts me, the teacher, at a disadvantage also because I cannot print the colorful charts, diagrams or pictures I want to use as teaching tools. Having the ink I need for the printer in our classroom will solve so many problems, especially for the students who come from low-income families.

So please help my class by allowing my students to print from my printer and allow our learning environment to be full of color. This will make learning more enjoyable for my students.
