This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have requested a series of books designed to teach elementary students coping skills and diversity and inclusion.
Elementary students crave (and desperately need) the tools in their toolboxes to dope with topics like diversity, anger management, anxiety and respect.
It is my hope that I can provide those skills in a fun and non threatening manner.
Students today are faced with many challenges that their parents and grandparents did not. This makes it very difficult for them to teach the necessary life skills to their children.
As a school counselor, it is often my job to help these students learn these skills. Often AFTER negative consequences for their actions have already occurred.
