My Students

"Dreams are not something to wait for, they are something to work for." I need to work toward becoming better acquainted to teach with technology. I want to work toward mastering great teaching apps that integrate curriculum.

I have been proudly teaching for 27 years.

I have always taught in an elementary urban school district. I have had the privilege of teaching grades K- 6 in my years of teaching. My school is Title I and Title III. We have an eclectic group of students that are from lower social economic families, second language learners, gifted, and special needs.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad, Dragon software, a stylus and a cover to protect the iPad. My goal is to increase my proficiency in technology that will enhance my instruction with students of all needs. I want to utilize Dragon for my students with learning disabilities as well as dictation of sentence and writing samples that can be projected as I teach. I feel that this will be a helpful skill to learn so that my students are getting a visual example with the spoken lesson. Also, I want to learn how to draw and use graphics with my presentations. Again, visual learning along with spoken lessons are so important for all types of learners. I focus on learning modalities and I want to bring my teaching skills into the 21st Century.

Gaining proficiency on the iPad and the use of Dragon, will not only improve my delivery of instruction, but it will enhance my teaching techniques.

Improving my delivery of the standards will benefit my students and give me the confidence to utilize these tools.
