My Students

My biggest challenge is keeping all of my students engaged even though they are on so many different levels. My goal by the end of the year is for my students to be confident in their abilities and to know that their teacher has taught them what they need to be ready for 3rd grade.

I have been teaching for 3 years.

I taught kindergarten in a title one school for one year and I am teaching 2nd grade at my current school. I am still considered a new teacher and feel that I could really benefit from this educational experience. Even though I feel I have caught on quickly, I know that I still have many things that I need to learn in order to be the most effective teacher possible.

My Project

I know that these professional development classes will benefit my students. I am excited to take many of the classes they are offering. Some of the classes that I cannot wait to learn about are meeting the needs of struggling writers, routines that get your kids talking and writing about math strategies, and even learning math with card and dice games. I am excited to learn the information they are offering and even though I am a new teacher I will bring it back to my school to benefit my whole team.

I know that this professional development conference will help me to become a more effective teacher.

This conference will teach me about how I can use technology in my class, games that will help my students learn, how I can help my struggling readers and writers, and basically how I can become a better teacher. This class will change my students lives for the better because it will help me become a more confident teacher.
