My Project
The students at my school have expressed a keen interest in sewing. These sewing machines will be used in our new exploratory classes at our school. Many adults today do not know how to sew, so there are very few students learning this incredibly useful skill. I would like to pass along my knowledge and skill to students interested in learning the fine art of sewing. Having a group of matching sewing machines will help in this goal. From small crafts, clothes, to quilts, sewing can be used to create so many things. Students could use their new skill to create projects to sell, or give as gift. They would learn other skills as well such as direction reading, and math. We could also use the sewing machines to complete community service projects, such as sewing quilts for the homeless, or sick children in the hospital, or making pillow cases for homeless shelters. There are countless opportunities for students to use their sewing skills for the good of their community.
