This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the best! They are happy to be at school to learn despite coming to school from challenging homes and diverse backgrounds. Our school population includes many students who are living in various forms of transitional housing. Our school also receives 100% free breakfast and lunch to support students.

Even though my students come from many challenging situations, they are so determined to learn to read so they can become great readers and writers!!

I believe my students have the potential to do many amazing things and learn all they need to learn to overcome challenges in their lives.

My Project

The phonic titles will give students the opportunity to build words during skilled based instruction.

Readers are so important to students who are learning to read.

Readers give students the opportunity to practice what they are learning in class.

The decodable and emergent readers will be used during skilled based instruction and will be sent home in their reading folders to practice with families at home and returned back to school.

The sight word and word family books will be put in our classroom library so that students can read during oral language block.
