My Project

I primarily work with students who have visual impairments, but I also work with students who have autism and are non-verbal, who are learning how to use AAC devices to communicate with staff and peers. So often AAC is used just for responding to questions and academics, but communication is so much more than that! Communication is fun! To keep it fun for my students, I incorporate games and activities that they enjoy. They love to build and put things together, and we work a lot on core vocabulary during these sessions. These kids work hard and are so special. Teaching the AAC will enhance their world because their voices will be heard.
