My Students
One of my favorite things about teaching 6th grade is the amazing classroom discussions I can have with this age group. I genuinely enjoy the level of insight and passion my students bring to our classroom discussions. Whether it is math, reading, writing or science, my students make valuable connections to real life situations.
Not only are my students insightful, but they are also compassionate.
I see compassion in their everyday interactions with each other, and I am reminded of just how important each student is in our classroom.
Using hands on materials for student to learn from creates an exciting environment to grow! I am excited to use more hands on manipulative to teach my students this year.
My Project
Yarrrr!! Teaching Like A Pirate is my new motto. This year I aim to increase engagement and show students that learning is FUN. As a 6th grade teacher I have found that using hands on materials is the best way to get students excited about learning. The materials I am requesting give students an opportunity to use tangible materials to promote learning.
In addition, the reading materials that I am requesting promote inclusiveness and cultural awareness.
I look forward to using the fun materials in this project to increase engagement and TEACH LIKE A PIRATE!!
