This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Education is what develops critical thinking, provides stability in our lives, and is what shapes our future. My name is Kimberly Herrera and my teaching experience has been the best 3 years of my professional career! In the few years I have been teaching young minds, I have loved what I have been able to teach my kids and how much they have taught me. Some of my greatest heroes, memories, and experiences have come from education or inside a classroom. Every day I see my students grow through intelligence and maturity as they enjoy the projects and programs I set up for them! In my experience, I see students become more engaging and interactive through hands-on learning rather than drawn-out lessons and I would love your support in giving those projects to them! My social campaign, Teach for the Stars, highlights the importance of teachers and educators by providing tools, funding, and all-around support to my end-of-year projects meant to benefit my student’s education.

Our overall goal is to get funding for sufficient materials such as crafts and school supplies and online learning modules that can better educate these students!

What sets my campaign apart from the others is the story of my students. More than three-fourths of the students that I teach come from low-income households and are not able to afford the education that they deserve.

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest”- Benjamin Franklin. Although I only know so much when it comes to the families of my students, I do know they want what's best for their children and so do I. With the help of funding and all-around support, these students will get equal opportunity when it comes to their education and their experience in a classroom.
