My Project

I work in an ABA self contained special education classroom. I service students ranging from kindergarten-second grade. We work on an array of academic skills, fine motor, play/leisure, and daily living skills. We have different work blocks throughout the day that include writing and independent work. The students use expo markers daily.

All of the independent work is teacher-created.

We use lots of laminating sheets and velcro to help create individualized tasks. We organize the tasks into either file folders or task boxes.

Each student has a work binder with individualized tasks connected to goals and objectives on their IEP. We organize the binders with dividers and labels.

To help students with transitions throughout the day we set visual timers. We use timers for toileting routines, independent work, playtime, and transitions to specials or lunch.
