Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This fall I will instruct fifty enthusiastic fourth graders. These English Language Learners are always excited about discovering new things and sharing their knowledge with their peers and parents. Our school lacks funding to provide many necessities for these students. Despite this challenge, our school continues to foster the development of creative and resilient learners. My fourth graders are predominately English Language Learners who are thriving to master speaking, writing and reading English. The other students are from a variety of nationalities .i.e. Caribbean, African, and East Indian countries.
My Project
My fourth graders enjoy using technology in the classroom. We are in need of 10 kindle tablets to help continue to foster their love for learning. The 10 Kindle Fire tablets will help my English Language Learners master English during independent learning or small group instruction. During independent work, students will access leveled books, games, and other resources assigned to them in our online classroom. In addition, students can use the tablets to listen to their leveled readers and view videos that help them understand the reading skills and strategies discussed during whole group instruction.
These 10 new Kindle Fire tablets will allow my students to become independent learners by providing access to various learning apps.
Help me spark my students' interest in learning about different countries, communities, and cultures. My fourth graders will enjoy the interactive games, videos, and ebooks in both English and their native language.
