This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyone has blessings in their life. My blessing are my Exceptional students who are diagnosed with Autism. With Distance Learning, my students struggle to sit in front of a chromebook for a long periods of time and they need more hands on activities that will give them more support that will help them thrive in learning virtually.

For all these reasons, I am raising money to better support my students and their family during virtually learning so they can continue to have the support and materials they need to reach their learning goals.

My Project

The sensory activities will help set up my class environment for success. With appropriate sensory integration will help my students' neurobiological process. Sensory integrative dysfunction is a disorder in which sensory input is not integrated or organized appropriately in the brain and may produce varying degrees of problems in development, information processing, and behavior. Evidence-based treatments for supporting students who experiences sensory differences can improve their comfort. Sensory activities can help strengthen self-regulation and help them cope with reactions to touch.

General goals are to provide each student with sensory information which helps organize the central nervous system, to assist the child in inhibiting and/or modulating sensory information, and to assist the child in processing a more organized response to sensory stimuli.

My students will be able to develop their creativity while also enhancing cognitive development and functional skills.
