This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The bass is the foundation of the orchestra, but can be an intimidating instrument for middle school students. It is often not chosen due to its size and an orchestra without basses lacks depth and tone color. I am lucky enough to have eight brave and talented middle school bass players. Some of them struggle to hold the instrument correctly and their playing suffers as a result. This is where you come in!

My goal is to provide my amazing bass players with a comfortable, adjustable performance stool that makes holding their instrument correctly much easier.

It will accommodate both my tallest and smallest players. Correct posture will make difficult concepts like shifting and vibrato less frustrating to learn. Having a special seat will also make them feel seen and valued.

Thank you for the opportunity to help my bass players when budgets are tight. No donation is too small. You will be our music hero.
