My students need 4 different sets of puppets to allow our upper grade children to create and present puppet show to our primary grade children. We also will use these puppets to act out stories we have read in class. I have selected 4 different types of puppets to expand the presentations available. There are farm, zoo, community helpers and insects.
I teach a first grade class in a high poverty Inner City school. They are extremely motivated but have very little resources available to them. I have Inclusion students, low performing students, high performing students and 2 Autistic students. I teach all subjects and all day.
My students love to act things out. They have no puppets to help them express their ideas. We made puppets out of paper and Popsicle sticks but they were not very durable and need to be replaced. Several upper class students have expressed an interest in putting on original puppet shows written by them that would fascinate our primary students.
With these puppets the upper grade students could create puppet shows for the primary students and the primary students could act out stories they read in class.
With your donations, you can create actors and play writers. These children want to express themselves in creative ways. Help them reach that goal by donating to our grant. Thank you.
