Taking Our Coding To Another Level!

Help me give my students six Sphero Indis to help take their coding skills to another level.

My Project

Being an Innovative Learning Coach at a Title I school provides me with an opportunity to reach students on so many different level and see their progress over the years as they move from one grade to the next. Back in 2021, I started a coding journey with my 3rd graders when they were in Kindergarten by teaching them the foundation of coding using Code and Go Mice, we then moved onto block coding using our Chromebooks, and now they are ready to program a device.

I did review lessons at the beginning of the year with my 3rd graders using the Code and Go Mice and I was so shocked at how easily they programed the mouse.

They are truly ready to be challenged.

It was definitely because of the practice they had in the past using this tool and taking what they learned about coding using a screen free device to programing on a computer. Now they are truly ready to create code on their computer to make a device such as the Sphero Indi carry out their code. Not only will this be a great option for those 3rd graders that I have been working with but when I teach the coding unit to 2nd grade, it will also be an option for those students who really grasp the concept of coding.
