I want my students to continue their literacy development at home. I would like for each child to be able to take home a bag that contains 2-3 books on a certain topic. Along with the books, the students would have different literacy activities to complete with their family. We need 22 Canvas Media Bags.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Kindergarten teacher, in a rural area. Almost half of my class are second language learners. All of my students are always working on developing their language, and literacy skills.
Many of my students have little to no books at home. They are able to take home one book from our library, but this is not enough to develop all of the literacy skills that are needed before entering into first grade. At the kindergarten level is the best time to have students fall in love with reading and develop all of their emerging literacy skills.
With these bags I would be able to send my students home with 2-3 books and accompanying activities. I have many books, and want to send them home but I need a way to keep the books together and get them returned so that all students are able to use the books. These bags would allow my students to go home with books to read, and complete fun literacy activities with their family. While completing these activities the students would be learning many literacy skills and a love for books.
Can you make a young child learn to love reading? Yes you can! With your donation my students would be able to take home books and literacy activities that would develop their literacy skills and their love for reading.
