This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of my students come from homes where English is a second language. Despite the challenges of coming from immigrant homes, my students put forth maximum effort and embrace challenges to become super-star students. Our school is a Title I school with 90% of our student population on a free/reduced-priced lunch.
Our school’s theme for the 2022-2023 school year is "Taking Learning to Infinity and Beyond”.
Indeed, a fitting theme as teachers, parents, and students work diligently to recover from the learning loss caused by the onset of Covid19.
My students need to have an inviting and nurturing environment that fosters learning that goes to infinity and beyond, and one great way to create this atmosphere is through the visual set-up of the classroom.
A nurturing classroom is important for everyone who enters it, but it is most important for my students who spend most of their day in the classroom. It is always my goal to make my classroom a home away from home. As we return to school in August to start a fresh school year, I’d like to decorate my classroom with décor that matches our school’s theme.
Motivational Bulletin Board cutouts, growth mindset charts, inspirational wall quotes, and incentive charts are some of the things that will enhance the classroom and set the tone to take learning to infinity and beyond.
The name labels will go on students’ notebooks and other personal items. The pencils, desk name plates, individual goal charts, erasers, and book marks will all be on students’ desks on the first day of school. The other items will add to the learning environment of the classroom.
