My Project
Hello and thank you for considering this project.
Dramatic play is an exciting and important center for children to learn in.
It allows children to learn about different cultures, different roles and jobs in the household, plus different careers and different ways we view things. We can find similarities and differences between one another in Dramatic Play.
My goals for this projects are for children to experience these differences and similarities. I have heard many children say "only mommies can carry the baby". But as a dad, I would like the children to also experience that dads can nurture and care for babies, too. I have heard many say, "only boys can be firemen!" But anybody can be a firefighter! This project will not only teach children that roles in the household and careers vary in different cultures, but it will also challenge what they are accustomed to.
My children are very special. During these first three weeks of school, they are sharing experiences about their homes, who takes care of them, who will pick them up, and what roles families share in the home. This is why this project is so important.
