The students at my school are very active, energetic, and enthusiastic. They enjoy coming to school, learning new things, and playing with friends. As we work to foster a positive school environment, our students learn what it means to be respectful, responsible, and productive.
As a coach in a Title One school, many of our students live in areas of high poverty.
They are all provided free breakfast and lunch each day. Our students also have the option to participate in a free afterschool program in which dinner is provided. This program provides struggling students with the extra support they need to be successful in school and in life.
My Project
As a coach working with teachers and students in a Title One school, it is important that we provide clarity for students in terms of expected learning outcomes, as well as provide a path to achieve those expected outcomes. In order to do this, our teachers must first have clarity with what to teach and how to communicate this information effectively.
A group of teachers at my school plan to complete a book study in order to help us bring more focus and clarity to what it is we are doing in our classrooms with students each and every day.
We hope to develop clear learning goals that we can communicate with our students in order to improve overall student achievement. These books will help us align our lessons and objectives with learner outcomes to reach this goal.
