This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love my students’ curiosity, resilience, and kindness. Each day, they inspire me with their willingness to learn and their efforts to grow, not only academically but also as thoughtful individuals.
This project focuses on creating a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) library filled with books that teach critical skills like empathy, self-awareness, and managing emotions.
These resources will help my students navigate challenges, build positive relationships, and develop emotional resilience. By integrating SEL into our daily learning, these books will provide a safe space for students to reflect, discuss, and grow in their social and emotional skills.
My goal for this project is to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and equipped with tools for personal growth. These materials will make a real difference in their learning by helping them better understand themselves and others, which in turn supports their academic and interpersonal success.
What makes my students special is their incredible diversity and their genuine care for one another. They come from different backgrounds and face unique challenges, yet they are united by their shared determination to succeed and their enthusiasm for learning. This project is not just about books—it’s about empowering my students to be compassionate, confident, and prepared for the future
