Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located on the West Side of Chicago in a neighborhood named “La Villita” or Little Village. Most of our students come from low-income homes and/or unsafe neighborhoods. Regardless of the hardships our students face one thing that all of our students demonstrate is resiliency!

Despite the pandemic, our students are still striving to remain resilient and ACTIVE!

My Project

The idea behind this project is that students can go to a central location in our school in the event that they need any of the essential needs to survive. Many of our students often express how they don't have certain items or struggle to locate items of need in school. This station will have deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, pads, lotion, notebooks, paper, Kleenex, etc.

By creating this freebie station, students will be able to not only have one less worry but more importantly will be feel loved and cared for!

Our students deserve the world and access to these items may help them feel like they can reach the world.
