I have a multicultural and diverse set of students in my classroom. My school is a title funded school in the heart of Durham NC. We are 100% funded for free lunch, and we serve about 40 % Hispanic population and special needs students. At this time we are considered a low performing school and I strive to serve the visual and tactile learners to assist them in learning. I work with small groups to encourage collaboration with kagan strategies for high achievement.
My Project
The rug will make a difference because we have a tiled floor and it get cold with the air blowing. It will also make it comfortable for students to seat in assigned areas as well as seat close to the whiteboard. Due to the fact that we spend so much time on the carpet with 26 students it will make it easier for the teacher to be able to see the whole class without walking around the old rug to see students in the back of the classroom. Comfortable seating will sure make better for students who are taller and in other students personal space.
