My Students
My students come from a variety of backgrounds. A low income neighborhood where generational poverty is unfortunately the norm. My students deserve to have opportunities that are equal to students that have much more than they do. My students deserve the world. This hard time has taken a real toll on my students. We have all transitioned back to full time in person learning, which has been exciting but uncomfortable for most. Which will come with a whole new set of challenges. I do my best to give them the tools to overcome their hardships and have a successful future.
Despite the hardships, my students always come to school with smiles on their faces and questions to ask.
They are eager to be part of the learning. They are constantly asking questions and promoting much deeper thinking. School is often the only safe and fun place for my students to be. When my students are here, I know they are in a safe, positive environment, where they will get at least two meals a day.
My Project
Right now all we have for Science is a giant text book. My students are interested in what the book says, but it's difficult to get experiment ideas and affordable supplies. The access to generation genius will help support my students and thier science interests.
They will have unlimited access to generation genius will give my students the ability to watch experiments happen and learn why and how.
The access will give me the ability to plan and organize supplies so that my students are also able to attempt the hands on experiences.
