Take Our Video Game Club Into the Modern Esports World!
Help me give my students a chance to compete in modern Esports championship gaming. This Skytech PC will allow us to compete in Street Fighter 6. Our current PCs are extremely outdated (circa 2010).

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since our return from COVID, we have been working hard to create a video game and arcade club for our students at OHS. We've utilized old video game systems, salvage computers, and donations from friends/family to build a great gaming space for our students. However, to transition into the modern Esports world we will need an upgrade in technology. We need a Gaming PC Desktop.
I believe Esports gaming will give our students a chance to work on developing some foundational cooperative and sportsmanship skills through playing and competing in games.
Competitive games will have our students using a variety of skills and teamwork to compete against other schools in the state. Students will consciously and subconsciously work on their ability to self-start, critically think, problem-solve, evaluate, and cooperate/collaborate.
I believe students need more opportunities to be creative and competitive within the educational setting. Not every student fits into the traditional extracurricular options (sports, drama, and music). The world is changing, along with our children, and believe we should be at the forefront of this change. Esport is an opportunity for many students at the high school level to have an alternative opportunity at cooperative and collaborative competitions. Thank you for providing me and other teachers this opportunity to advocate for our programs and the students we provide them for.
