This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend an extended-day program offering rigorous activities that support academic achievement and character development. Most students receive free lunch with living conditions under unique challenges. Our school has a population of over 75% of students whose first language is other than English. With this aside, we are fortunate to have students that are determined to exceed expectations and prevail to their highest potential. There is an opportunity to help my students through holistic reaching of the entire community. Participating in extended school activities allows for meaningful engagement with positive influences to help children excel!
My Project
My students are in need of supplies for interactive notebooks. In understanding of the enhancements of instruction, the art of note-taking has blossomed and there are new ways to make learning practical. Instructional models are constantly changing, for the better, to include ways to reach students like never before. Interactive notebooks are a way to engage every student and meets them where they are, at their individual levels. My classroom has a plethora of learning styles and the interactive notebooks allow for the opportunity to embrace their differences while enhancing their preferred ways to learn. The interactive notebook and supplies will give all student a starting chance to enrich their learning regardless if they can afford the materials.
