My Students
My fifth grade ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching )students are ready to virtually face each and every day with excitement. My class consists of Special Education students, ENL (students learning English for the first time), students of all levels, most of which have recently arrived in New York City and a few general education students. All of my students love to learn and many of them are kinesthetic or visual learners.
I want to give each of my students the foundation that they need so that they can aspire to be anything that they want to be and overcome any obstacles or challenges they may face along the way during these uncertain times.
My Title l school in Flushing, Queens has been working on social-emotional wellness by implementing Ruler. We recognize the importance of being mentally and emotionally healthy by connecting with one another.
My fifth graders and future students will greatly benefit from your help by allowing them to receive the materials that they need in order to be successful.
My Project
I am requesting the illustrated series of Harry Potter books to help unlock my students' imaginations! One of our novel studies for our classroom is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone! My students LOVE the characters, plot, and setting of this book. The Harry Potter series helps the students visualize and connect to the characters of the stories. It is my intent for the students to be able to bring home these books to share with their families.
Many of my students have lost so much as a result of this pandemic, and many of them have been forced to grow up much earlier than needed, please help me rekindle their curiosities and imaginations with the wonderful world of Harry Potter.
Getting lost in a good book not only fosters a love of reading, it creates lifelong learners. These books are a perfect distraction for all children from the world we are currently faced with. We will also learn about JK Rowling and investigate her biography. My students love learning about inspirational people. Thank you so much for always making our dreams a reality!
