My Project
I teach a vibrant and curious group of 24 kindergarten students in a low-income community. My classroom is full of eager learners who thrive with hands-on experiences, yet access to engaging, sensory-rich materials is limited due to funding constraints.
Sensory bins are a powerful educational tool that foster exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.
They allow students to engage with concepts in math, science, literacy, and social-emotional learning in a way that is both developmentally appropriate and deeply engaging. Through tactile play and interactive lessons, sensory bins support students with diverse learning needs, including those with sensory processing challenges.
This project will fund a variety of sensory materials (like kinetic sand, water beads, rice, scoops, tongs, and themed manipulatives) and storage bins to create a rotating set of hands-on learning stations. These will align with our curriculum while keeping learning fun and accessible for all students.
By supporting this project, you’ll help create a more inclusive, stimulating, and joyful classroom environment where every child can thrive.
Impact:

Encourages hands-on, exploratory learning
