My Students
We are a band on the verge of greatness, but we need your help! We have 234 students from two middle schools and a high school in our band program. Four years ago, our marching band had only 49 members, but now...we boasted 81!!! However, our instruments are all very old, and we are in a low-income area where many students have to borrow a school instrument. We are quickly running out of instruments!!! Our hope is for funding to help us finish this year strong and purchase new instruments and equipment that will help us for the next 15+ years! Students cannot feel successful on an instrument or equipment that is holding them back, so we hope you will help us!
My Project
We are currently using old, broken-down stands in our program. We usually send the Hand-me-down stands to the middle schools. However, many of our stands aren't good enough to take to the middle schools.
New stands will help each student get their own stand and stop having to share with two other people.
Currently, way too many of my students have to share stands with up to two others...sometimes more. This is not okay for flutes, trumpets and low brass. Middle school stands are making us use four to a stand, sometimes.
