This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their energy, creativity, and unique ways of learning. Each day, they come into the classroom full of curiosity and the desire to grow—not just academically, but socially and emotionally, too.
Many of my students learn best when they have the freedom to move, wiggle, and choose a space that feels right for them.
Flexible seating gives students that freedom. It empowers them to take ownership of their learning by choosing where and how they work best—whether that’s on a wobble stool, a floor cushion, or standing at a tall desk.
Traditional desks don’t fit every learner, and for some of my students, sitting still for long periods can be a real challenge. With flexible seating, they can release energy in appropriate ways, stay engaged longer, and build essential self-regulation skills.
Each seating option in this project will support different needs—some help with focus, others reduce anxiety or sensory overload. All of them send one powerful message: This classroom is made for YOU.
