My Students

Many of my students are on the autism spectrum, some stutter, others have mild to moderate cognitive challenges, but all have some form of language-based disability. It can be tough for them to navigate their education. They need special strategies and resources.

My students are bright, funny, sweet, technology-loving children.

They need extra help to develop their language, social interaction, and life skills. My goal is to target authentic language and give them strategies so they can work around their disabilities – for learning and for happy, successful lives.

My Project

Sometimes there are more students than chairs. Think about that for a minute. Can you even imagine a teacher having to scrounge so his or her students can sit during instruction?

We need a set of stackable chairs so students can sit during class, at stations for small-group instruction, and to view presentations.

These chairs will get a work out! We're really asking for the basics here, but we need your help. Chairs can be expensive. Having sufficient classroom furniture shouldn't be limited by a teacher's personal finances. We need help.

We're also requesting two beanbag chairs. These will provide a comfy spot for silent reading. We've invested time and thought into getting kids to love literature. These will add to the special time they get to read silently or to be read to. We think they will love them!
