Help me give my students a rich education by providing them with diverse storybooks.

My Students
I teach a classroom of 15 students in grades K0/K1. My classroom is unique because it is a physically-handicap inclusion classroom. My students work very hard and are always excited to come to school. My school is in an urban community in the city of Boston. There are additional resources that would be very useful to ensure that our school day is engaging and fun for everyone! Literacy is a great route to take when thinking about ways to make the school day engaging and fun for everyone.
I strive to give my students the tools to help them succeed and receive a rich and diverse education.
Providing my students with diverse storybooks will open them up to a world of learning.
My Project
These multicultural storybooks will help open the world for my young students. I would love for my students to see a reflection of themselves when they pick up a book to browse or read in our classroom. Students will love to read more books when they see that the characters in the storybooks resemble them, a family member and/or friends.
I would like to continue to make our classroom a safe community where all students feel accepted and welcomed.
It is important for children to see themselves throughout the day when they are at school. I am hoping that providing them with multicultural books will help them learn about themselves and/or their friends. Our school aims to help children become global citizens. I am hoping that providing these books will serve as a stepping stone!
