My first grade class consists of 23 students with a wide range of academic abilities. We have several students with special needs, as well as those that qualify as gifted. We celebrate each students' abilities and teach kindness and collaboration in our classroom. Our school is a national certified STEM school. We have received the A+ School of Excellence distinction three consecutive times.

My Project
Books in the hands of my first graders brings joy to my heart. These new book sets will bring new interest into our reading corner and are great for first graders just learning to read chapter books. The new book shelves with keep our new books organized and safe. Creating a love for reading at an early age is so important. These books emphasize the phonics patters we are working on. They also inspire my students to become creative writers as well.
First graders are excited to read and make connections between the characters in these books and themselves.
