This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For over 15 years Reading Rainbow has been the most used video resource in the classroom and winner of numerous awards. Reading Rainbow episodes are an exciting way to open up new worlds of learning and inspire the imagination of students.

I teach a wonderful class of 26 third-graders.

They are excited, energetic and enthusiastic. My students love to read! They also love to hear stories. I have used Reading Rainbow videos to enhance their reading, and the students love these! Having access to a wide range of Reading Rainbow episodes, including books and topics that my students are familiar with, will really supplement their language arts instruction.

My Project

Reading Rainbow sets the "benchmark" with a strong multicultural focus, support for character education themes, integration with other curricular areas such as math, science, music, and the arts and offering extensive free educational resources and curriculum tie-ins, lesson plans and more. With the iTunes volumes of classic episodes available to us, students will be able to watch the episodes on PCs, or we will watch them whole group.

Designed to promote literacy, Reading Rainbow encourages children to read by bringing books to life and transporting children to exciting, real-life settings.

Its dynamic, fast-paced, colorful animation and hip music entertain and reinforce these experience, and help children embrace positive reading habits, and instill in them a love of learning. Thank you for giving my students this wonderful experience.
