My students need 16 beautiful picture books that incorporate music and history.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
An engaging book can completely change the classroom dynamic and draw students into an exciting new world. Due to a lack of funding, I am not able to provide my students with the variety of musical stories that I believe they deserve.
My students attend a K-8 grade public school in a high poverty community located in New Jersey.
Our school is wonderful, with a loving and supportive staff and administration and an amazing student body and parent population and what we lack in funding we make up for in spirit.
My Project
These books will help Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, and Fourth grade students learn about history and music in a fun, engaging way that stimulates their visual and auditory senses. They will read the books independently and as a group. They will learn about many things, including but not limited to mariachi music, hip hop, jazz, and the impact of music on civil rights.
Donations to this project will expose hundreds of children to history and culture relating to music.
If we receive this project, their love of learning will be supported and they will be more fully engaged. Thank you so much for your consideration.
