My Students
Let's face it, the best way to get through to most students today is through technology. Although I can't provide LeapFrog systems for every student in my class, I would like to make them available in a computer station. It is my goal to use the LeapFrog system to enrich math and reading skills.
Our school is a Title I school.
Most of the students receive free or reduced lunch. The low performing test scores are showing some improvement. Fifty-five percent of students are white, twenty percent are African-American, and seventeen percent are Hispanic. We are an urban school, with community support from businesses and churches. There is not much parent involvement.
My Project
Students will be motivated to increase their scores using the LeapFrog game system. They will be able to use the game systems during Guided Reading and Guided Math time. While I meet with small groups or monitor the work stations, students will explore literacy or math on the 2 LeapFrog systems I am requesting. By using manipulatives, LeapFrog games, pocket charts, task cards, listening centers, or technology, students will be able to practice skills learned during whole group and small group instruction.

Your donation will help to motivate my 1st graders. These days, students are busy with Nintendo, Playstation, and X-Box. It makes it hard for teachers to compete. The LeapFrog will help me entertain and educate.
