This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember being in math class confused by the lesson just taught? Did you wish you had another tool at your hands for help? The iPad is just one source that can be available to help students with their work.
My students are your typical middle school students.
They struggle with their school work but they try their hardest to do well. Things might not come easy for my students but their willingness to try is a start for them. As long as they try they have a chance to success in their school work.
My Project
Many students have different learning styles, but one thing that I have noticed the students love is to use technology. I hope to use the iPad as a tool to help my students learn. My students who struggle with math can use the iPad to view videos privately to get a better understanding of the concept/skills that was taught. They can practice a concept/skill using an on-line video game. The iPad can also be used by students who are at a higher level. They can use the iPad to conduct research or work on challenging problems, etc.
I am hoping to use the iPad as another tool to help the students academically improve on their math concept/skills.
Using the tablet will also help motivate the students to actually want to do the work because it includes using technology. Many students want to experience math in a different format rather than just working on questions straight from the textbook. The iPad would definitely help bring math outside of the classroom.
