This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Small groups are at the heart of student learning. For a good portion of their day, my students are meeting with me or my co-teacher in small groups to accelerate their learning in all subjects, re-learn something they didn't understand or have discussions about interesting topics.

Sleek, black stools will give my students an inviting, comfortable place to sit while they learn in small groups.

What's more, the stools will give them the flexibility to move around the room to sit elsewhere when doing partner or group work. An armless desk chair will give their teacher a comfortable, supportive place to teach during small group instruction.

In my classroom there are two small group areas, and often we have two teachers teaching a small group simultaneously. Right now, our small group areas have seating that have seen better days...both teachers' and students' chairs are not the most comfortable or attractive. In addition to having a great place to sit and learn, these matching stools and brand new chairs will make our classroom more inviting and beautiful!
