A few years ago I received six microscopes through DonorsChoose. My students have loved using them in our Science investigations. But my classes keep getting larger! Sometimes I have 30 students sharing those six microscopes. We'd really like to have four more.
My students are very diverse.
They are the gifted and talented K-5th grade students at three elementary schools in a city. They come from homes that speak many languages and have a high rate of poverty. Each year I serve 150-200 students. These kids love a challenge and are eager to learn!
My Project
My students like to participate in hands-on activities, especially in Science and Math. They are fascinated by microscopic organisms and learning about plant and animal cells. We have been sharing the six microscopes we have, but in a class of 30, sometimes that is difficult. With four more microscopes, the students would be more efficient and productive in their studies by spending less time waiting for a turn.
My students are the brightest hope for our future.
They deserve to have the tools and resources necessary to help them learn. They enjoy a challenge, and love to be hands-on scientists. Your donation could inspire the future scientist that cures cancer.
