This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are bright, eager learners who thrive in a supportive and structured environment. As young learners, they are still developing emotional regulation skills, and sometimes they need a quiet space to reset and refocus. To support their emotional well-being, I want to upgrade our Calm Corner in our classroom—a safe and comforting space where students can take a moment to breathe, reflect, and regain their focus when needed.
I am requesting items such as sensory tools, fidget items, and a mindfulness book to help make this space effective and inviting.
These tools will provide my students with strategies to manage their emotions, self-regulate, and return to learning feeling refreshed. Having a dedicated space for emotional support will not only benefit individual students but also contribute to a positive and focused learning environment for the entire class.
