Help me give my students graphic novels like Dino-Mike, Owly, Pup and Dragon, Simon and Chester, Tig and Lily, and Housecat Trouble to make reading irresistible, relatable, and laugh-out-loud fun!
My students are full of imagination, energy, and BIG emotions—which makes graphic novels the perfect reading match. Stories with expressive illustrations, lovable oddball characters, and just enough chaos keep even my most reluctant readers completely hooked.
With this project, I’m hoping to add a new batch of high-interest graphic novels to our classroom that reflect my students’ sense of humor and their giant hearts.
Dino-Mike gives kids the time-traveling, dinosaur-chasing excitement they crave. Owly shows the power of kindness, friendship, and quiet bravery—all without using many words, making it perfect for beginning and developing readers. Pup and Dragon brings giggles galore with a chaotic duo learning to work together. Simon and Chester mix ghostly fun with real-life lessons about cooperation and growing up. Tig and Lily pit a housecat against a tiger (kind of), making for a clever, silly showdown. Housecat Trouble explores anxiety, friendship, and finding courage—with a lot of fur and flair.
These books aren’t just entertaining—they’re gateways to developing fluency, expanding vocabulary, and building confidence. Every one of these titles helps my students see that reading can be joyful, silly, calming, adventurous—and theirs.
With your support, we can bring even more readers into the graphic novel fan club—where laughter leads to literacy, and cats and dinos rule the shelves.
