My Students
Help my lower end reading students LEAP into their full potential with a Tag Reading System.
I have nine total students in my rural Nebraska Third grade classroom.
Out my nine students 5 of them have an IEP or are part of our SAT process. Four of the five that are on a special program have 1.0 reading level. They struggle with fluency, and are always looking for my help to sound out a word.
My Project
This TAG reading system will help my students be more independent when reading. It it my hope by the end of third grade by using this product it raises my student's grade level for reading up to 3rd grade. I plan on using this with my second reading group, the ones who struggle. Just listening to someone else sound out a word will help these struggling readers succeed. One of the projects we will do is have the TAG Reading system read a story first, then have a student repeat it afterward. The repeated story telling will improve their listening and reading skills. The lower end students will be able to hear the story many times, and be able to practice the fluency skills they need to move up a grade level.
One example of a project I will be doing is partner reading, each person will take turns using the tag reading system. Then after a page they will each then read that page after they use the TAG reader.
This project is very important because it allows lower reading students a chance to succeed by using the TAG Reading System.
It may not influence many students, but the quality of the project that it will influence is great.
