My students need hands on learning materials. They are tactile learners and are most engaged when they can use their five senses.

My Students
The 26 sprouts in our classroom have begun to blossom! You can see and hear these great minds blooming as they begin to realize those squiggles on the page are words and that they can read them!
We are an integrated-co-teaching classroom in the Bronx with 26 Kindergarten students, each with unique strengths and challenges.
In our classroom we strive to create a caring and safe learning environment where all students feel confident to take risks and grow as learners. We meet the needs of our diverse population by emphasizing compassion and respect for all.
My Project
Each day we break into small groups to best meet the needs of our diverse learners. While small groups are working with a teacher, others are working in pairs or independently. These activities will allow students to work on fundamental skills independently. Hands-on manipulatives such as magnetic letters and tactile letters help our kinesthestic learners. The locks and key game will allow students to use problem solving skills.
Students in our classroom will have a diverse range of activities to keep them engaged while their teachers are doing the important work of teaching children how to read.
These supplies will allow more students to become life long learners.
