Tactile Summertime Kits for Preschool

Help me give my students fun tactile, and fine motor activities for the summer. The dough will be a fun sensory experience. Including a tray to contain the materials at home for convenient use!

My Students

Our children attend a full day Pre-K program. Our classroom is full of 18 vibrant, curious young learners.

Our children are extremely low income, and may have many other developmental risk factors.

Our day is full of interactive play, family style meals, and outdoor recess! During our school day, we go outside for at least an hour to play. We also have work time where the children plan an activity and then do the activity (play based learning) with others.

My Project

This year was challenging for my preschool class because it was completely virtual. One of the most important elements of preschool is fine motor and tactile experiences.We had a year without sand table, water beads, colored rice and other sensory experiences. I managed to create some fine motor activities in our days, but not nearly as much as we could doing in-person learning.

This project will allow each child to bring home several activities and materials including a tray, for easy access and play!

The materials can positively impact their summer learning at home.
