Tactile Resources for Hands-on Learning and Creativity to Support Engagement

Help me give my students hands-on supplies such as individual whiteboards, 3-D brain models and blow-up globes, and materials such as markers and colored pencils to help them expand creativity and learning opportunities.

My Project

After Covid, my students continue to struggle getting back into being in school. Hands-on learning activities and opportunities to incorporate creative elements can engage students who otherwise try to tune out. Having access to colored pencils and markers provides students with resources to let their creativity flow. In addition, these materials give students concrete ways to learn and practice what they have learned. My students in psychology have never had models of the brain. My students in geography have never had globes or maps. These materials will help my students become excited about learning and will therefore raise student achievement. For example, having enough world maps and globes for groups to use will allow them to interact with the locations of places in a more up close and personal way. It also helps more tactile learners have the same opportunities to learn as students who are more verbal learners. Thank you for supporting my students and their learning!
