This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an NYC Department of Education teacher. I absolutely love every one of my students! They're the reason I love coming to work every day. I teach kids who are hospitalized in grades K-5 and are not in a traditional school setting. They're battling cancer and awaiting bone marrow transplants. They're smart, funny, curious, and most of all resilient. Due to being hospitalized, they're confined to their hospital room. They're immune compromised and must use only sterile materials for learning. Access to technology would bring learning and the world to them.
Help me give my students a laptop to complete assignments, engage in independent research and access the world from their hospital rooms.
