This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the amazing opportunity to teach 22 plus energetic and eager first graders! I love the challenge of molding young scholars into readers, writers, and mathematicians as they go through First Grade!

My First-grade scholars will take us into the next century!

In order to do that, they need to be fluent, knowledgeable and comfortable with technology. My goal is to have 1-1 technology using tablets to create problem-solvers, creators, innovators, and fluent readers and mathematicians.

I teach in a Title I school in a suburban setting. My classroom consists of students from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, family dynamics, and living situations. My students come from one parent homes, two parent homes, foster homes, group homes, and homes where they are raised by a grandparent, aunt or uncle. Regardless of where my students come from, when they enter my classroom they become authors, scientists, mathematicians, readers, artists, musicians, and creators of amazing projects!

My first-grade scholars have a variety of abilities, background knowledge, writing, and reading skills. I provide engaging learning activities for each student at his/her learning level using instructional materials that will challenge each scholar.

My Project

First graders have so much to learn! They are learning to be students, readers, writers, mathematicians, and problem solvers! Teaching first grade scholars is a privilege and challenge! It is important for them to have opportunities to learn with a variety of learning mediums.

In order to prepare my scholars to be future leaders, they need the opportunity to learn on their own Tablet each and every day.

The applications available to us will allow each student to practice basic skills and learn new skills every day.

With this project, my scholars will learn to be computer coders, readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. Teaching in a high poverty school, it is imperative that my scholars have opportunities to problem solve with technology.
