Help me give my students tablets to utilize in the classroom. Due to COVID-19, the laptops in my classroom will be given to students in the school district that will be learning virtually.
I teach 4th grade ELA, Social Studies, and Writing. In all, I have approximately 44 that enter my classroom everyday! My classroom is a diverse population of students in a Title 1 school. Due to COVID-19, our school year will be extremely different than my students are used to.
Eighty percent of the school population is on free or reduced lunch.
Some students are English Language Learners, as well as students in the Exceptional Student Education program.
All of the students are unique in their own way. Each child has varied academic levels that include ESE and ELL. Our goal is to hone in on specific standards and strategies by giving daily intervention and encouraging students to put their best foot forward to achieve success.
My Project
I am requesting five tablets for use in my classroom this year. Our current pandemic has forced education to become very different than we are used to. My students need to have access to technology in the classroom. My current student laptops will be distributed to students that do not have access to devices while they learn online at home. This means my students in the classroom loose their technology. The tablets will my allow students to continue to access crucial educational software. Tablets are the perfect device for students to use at their desk. They are also easier to sanitize than a laptop. I would be greatly appreciative of any donation made to help my students have a successful school year during a global pandemic.
